Christina and Ethen, A Tale of Two Ceremonies
I truly love it when a couple puts their unique stamp on their day, and Christina and Ethen’s wedding was an amazing example of this. The couple decided that in honor of his Buddhist beliefs and upbringing and her Korean heritage they would host two traditional ceremonies. How to keep guests interested? Why a champagne toast and costume change in the middle, of course! This wedding took place on a beautiful Sunday in March and they chose to host a lunchtime reception. I am in total awe of her glam old-Hollywood look, but what else would you expect from a bride so fabulous she has her own make-up line? Cavallo Point Wedding Planner Reception
Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting some of my favorite local wedding planners out to the Lodge to enjoy special cocktails and our beautiful views. On the menu was an overflowing cheese tray with offerings from some of my favorites such as Cowgirl Creamery and Andante, the incredible wines of Long Meadow Ranch in Rutherford (both bio-dynamically farmed and organic!), and trays of specialty sweets from our own Ethan Howard. I was absolutely floored by the gorgeous flowers from Kate’s Blossoms, and the wonderful furniture arrangements on the terrace by
Wine Country Party and Events. One of the highlights of the night was our signature cocktail which I think would be perfect for any Spring Wedding. David Garrett, our bar manager shares the recipe here for the “Grapefruit”- with its soft peachy hue and delicately sweet bubbles, I know your guests for any event would love it!

Anthropologie Inspired Wedding
If this wedding, captured by the wonderful Sarah Peet, doesn’t scream Spring, I don’t know what does! Pamela from Outlined Productions did such a lovely job of creating this Anthropologie inspired wedding design while still using all of the equipment included at Cavallo Point from tables and chairs to linens (a great money saver, if you want to spend more of your budget on food or entertainment!). I especially love the gorgeous plush garland and soft romantically colored ribbons which were used throughout the day’s events. They also made great use of the sound walls in Callippe to create a family wedding photo wall and unique backdrop for the sweetheart table.

JD and Jackie’s Intimate Wedding Brunch
I thought the perfect place to kick off this blog was with one of the sweetest love stories I have had the pleasure of witnessing. JD and Jackie were my first wedding of 2012, but their intimate winter wedding felt much more like Spring at a sunshine filled 70 degrees.
The guests believed they were attending a simple brunch, but upon arrival were handed a Cavallo Point signature drink- Cucumber Basil Soda- and welcomed to “Jackie and JD’s Wedding Celebration”. After the surprise had worn off, the couple’s adorable son Graham walked Jackie down the aisle where they exchanged vows as a family in front of a picturesque view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The room has a 16’ walnut table that was created from a tree that fell in Marin and seats up to 20 guests. The table itself is a work of art, and was beautifully complimented with the soft garden style flowers in deep reds, purples and bright winter whites by Kate’s Blossoms.

Hello out there!I have some very exciting news for you brides out there still looking for 2012 wedding venue. We have two recent Saturday openings for late Summer/early Fall, August 25 and September 22nd, in our incredible Callippe Ballroom. Callippe offers seating for 160-180, a beautiful foyer for cocktails and dancing, and a Golden Gate view terrace with a fire-pit. For the August 25th date I also have ceremony options in our Historic Mission Blue Chapel, or idyllic Mission Blue Lawn.
Additionally, we still have opennings for December 1, 8 or 15th as well as many Friday or Sunday options for the month of September.
