Tanya and Chris, A Ray of Sunshine

by Jessica on August 31st, 2012 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

There is nothing that can put me in a good mood as fast as a bright pop of yellow incorporated into a beautiful wedding.  I just adore yellow, and Tanya and Chris’s beautiful floral arrangements filled with stems of golden ranunculus interspersed with succulents are so bright and fun.  I also love the beautiful floral neckware on their adorable pup, and Tanya’s cozy shawl.  There are so many beautiful details to this wedding, it is hard to believe it was an intimate elopement of just 20 close family and friends!  The Mariposa Room can be a little masculine with its gorgeous wood and leather design, so I adore the sunny and feminine color scheme being integrated so beautifully into the space.  The incredible Ingrid Nelson of Myrtle and Marjoram shot this beautiful wedding, and I am so glad she shared it with me!

Puppy Love

This wedding, captured by Jasmine Wang is so full of good cheer from the bright color pallette, to the polka dotted cake, to the bride’s own glowing grin. The bright orange and turquoise tones used in the bridesmaid’s gowns, floral arrangements (mixed in beautifully amongst natural elements like succulents and blackberries) and even the dog’s collar are so sunny and sweet, it is easy to see why everyone is smiling throughout this happy day.  I am absolutely delighted by all of the shots of their adorable pup- she is clearly as happy as her owners to make their adorable family official!

Rachel and Blake, Zen in Verbena

by Jessica on August 15th, 2012 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

Rachel and Blake were so much fun to work with.  They share my love of amazing food and drink and I never tired of spending time discussing the food details of their wedding with them, from a dramatic shellfish station which was displayed on the walnut table in our Mariposa Room for their cocktail hour, to serving their signature drink, a meyer lemon moscow mule, in the perfect copper mugs.  Natalie Bowen did an incredible job creating a beautiful zen feel to their flowers, incorporating Asian herbal plants into a bevy of architectural arrangements that were abundantly scattered across their “queen” dining tables in Verbena.  Crisp ivory linens with soft blue runners and beautiful Japanese style paper menus by Olive-Route completed the look.  They moved their group back up to our Mission Blue Chapel for the dance party, with lounge areas, a paper crane station, the band, a photobooth, and a dessert station of tortes and tarts created by the loving hands of Rachel’s mother and her friends- so sweet!  Stacy McCain was an absolute pleasure to work with on the plans for this special day, and I love the way all of the details were capture by the lovely women of Gertrude and Mabel Photography.

Dianna and Steve, Modern in Navy and Pink

by Jessica on August 8th, 2012 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

Dianna and Steve chose a bold and modern feel for their Summer wedding at Cavallo Point with a navy and magenta color scheme.  The graphic blue and white print incorporated into their guest card table and menu cards had a nautical feel, perfect for a celebration on the San Francisco Bay.  The reception centerpieces by Amy Burke were spherical trios in white, raspberry and deep purple against grey linens, which were mirrored by the ceremony chair designs of thick navy ribbon tied to balls of greenery along the aisle.  They incorporated that beautiful navy ribbon detail again in the cake design by Studio Cake. Melissa and Yasuo, Whimsical Romance

by Jessica on August 3rd, 2012 in Real Weddings, | 4 Comments

After working with Melissa on events for the past several years, I would say we truly bonded over our love for Anthropologie and for weddings.  With that in mind, you can imagine how exciting it was watching her vision of an Anthro wedding come to life with the help of her own ingenuity and Naco Floral Art.  Melissa was pure style on her wedding day, which is reflected in the dozens of portraits I am sharing of her and Yas, because I just could not choose!  Lucky me, because Arrowood Photography got amazing shots everywhere from the waterfront to our historic porches.  I just LOVED Melissa’s bird cage veil and the layers upon layers of whimsical tulle in her dress.  And the romance was not just in the styling- Melissa actually learned her vows in Japanese as an homage to Yasuo and his family.  Many more gorgeous photos, and Melissa and Yasuo’s beautiful love story is shared on Tara Arrowood’s blog, please head there for more details!

Sarah and Brian, Bright Colors & Beatles Fun!

by Jessica on July 27th, 2012 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

When I met Sarah and Brian, it was only a couple of short months before their wedding, after their original venue fell through.  I was concerned that they would be upset, but Sarah was bright and cheery, something that I quickly learned to expect from this couple.  With that in mind, it was no surprise that she chose a gorgeous magenta hue for her bridesmaid’s dresses, and brightly colored bouquets that contrasted beautifully against the lawn, and gave a dramatic backdrop to their beautiful Mission Blue Lawn Ceremony. Sarah and Brian personalized their dinner in Verbena with adorable touches like  naming the tables after Beatles songs (to get guests excited for their amazing Beatles coverband The Sun Kings who performed in the Mission Blue Chapel for dancing).  Sarah and Brian, I cannot tell you how lucky I feel to have been a part of your special day- thank you so much for sharing it with me!  Event Coordination by I Do Wedding Management and photos by Wes Rowe.

Ting & Craig, Spring at Cavallo Point

by Jessica on July 20th, 2012 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

I often marvel at what amazing couples I get the opportunity to work with at Cavallo Point, and Ting and Craig definitely fall into that category.  They are such an amazingly accomplished and yet down to earth couple, and it was a pleasure to plan their special day with them.  Ting’s incredible dress with a back of peek-a-boo lace, really set the tone for this wedding for me.  It was simple but oozing with romance and style.  From soft butter yellow linens, to the paper lanterns in yellow, cream and dusty blue, Ting and Craig added their personal stamp, while still making use of a lot of the equipment Cavallo Point has in house, from Chiavari Chairs to table settings.  Flowers and design by Floramor.   I love the romantic antique feel to the photos, by Drozian Photography.  They were fabulous to work with, and I am so thankful to them for sharing their beautiful work with me!

Christina and Ethen, A Tale of Two Ceremonies

by Jessica on July 11th, 2012 in Real Weddings, | No Comments

I truly love it when a couple puts their unique stamp on their day, and Christina and Ethen’s wedding was an amazing example of this.  The couple decided that in honor of his Buddhist beliefs and upbringing and her Korean heritage they would host two traditional ceremonies.  How to keep guests interested?  Why a champagne toast and costume change in the middle, of course!  This wedding took place on a beautiful Sunday in March and they chose to host a lunchtime reception.  I am in total awe of her glam  old-Hollywood look,  but what else would you expect from a bride so fabulous she has her own make-up line? JD and Jackie’s Intimate Wedding Brunch

by Jessica on June 29th, 2012 in Real Weddings, | 1 Comment

I thought the perfect place to kick off this blog was with one of the sweetest love stories I have had the pleasure of witnessing.  JD and Jackie were my first wedding of 2012, but their intimate winter wedding felt much more like Spring at a sunshine filled 70 degrees.

The guests believed they were attending a simple brunch, but upon arrival were handed a Cavallo Point signature drink- Cucumber Basil Soda- and welcomed to “Jackie and JD’s Wedding Celebration”.  After the surprise had worn off, the couple’s adorable son Graham walked Jackie down the aisle where they exchanged vows as a family in front of a picturesque view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The room has a 16’ walnut table that was created from a tree that fell in Marin and seats up to 20 guests.  The table itself is a work of art, and was beautifully complimented with the soft garden style flowers in deep reds, purples and bright winter whites by Kate’s Blossoms.

Day beautifully captured by Marielle Hayes Photography.
